I was aiming to find a comfortable pace to do the whole 4 Km, I had planned to do for today’s training. I found it after 1 Km. I kept the momentum going till 3 Km, where it wavered. But I got it back round 3.5 Km, where I managed to run the last .5 Km :-). I had been going at walking pace for the first 3.5 Km. I tried a longer stride, which helped, as well. I walked the 4 Km, today, in 45 minutes 17 seconds.
Next Monday, I’m walking 20 Km in countryside round Winchester, Hampshire. This was my home town. So I know the area very well. I’m going up and down one of Winchester’s hills, then finishing with a river walk. This is again to find a comfortable pace to walk the 20 Km, in. I’m not focusing on speed in Winchester. Rather on physically knowing that I can do 20 Km. and get an idea of how to pace myself.
